Can you wash your alpaca clothing?

Yes you can wash an alpaca garment, but it's important to follow proper care instructions to avoid damaging the fabric.

Here are some general tips on caring for an alpaca garment:

👉Always read and follow the care instructions on the garment label.
👉Alpaca garments should be hand-washed in cold water with a mild detergent, and then gently rinsed.
👉Do not wring, twist or rub the garment, as this can cause damage to the fibres.
👉After washing, gently press the garment to remove excess water, and then lay it flat to dry. Do not hang the garment, as this can cause it to stretch out of shape.
👉If necessary, you can iron the garment on a low heat setting, or use a steamer.
👉Avoid using bleach or fabric softener, as these can damage the fibres of the garment.
👉Alpaca fibre is naturally resistant to odours, so it's generally not necessary to wash the garment after every wear. Instead, hang it in a well-ventilated area to air out between wears.

By following these care instructions, you can help to ensure that your alpaca garment stays looking beautiful and feels luxurious for years to come.
